We had plastic foil on the windows one summer, my granddad used to clear the trails outside, and we would watch him

Semi-transparent plastic foil has been placed in the middle of the hallway, stretching from the floor to the ceiling. It forces the audience to move in a specific way and offers them the possibility to experience the gallery space in a new way.
Life during the pandemic revolved around us keeping our distance and not getting too close to each other. By separating the audience physically, I limit their mobility in the same way as the restrictions do. The purpose of the restrictions is to keep us safe and to protect each other but by standing on each side of the plastic foil, I offer the audience the possibility to experience some closeness in a safe way. It’s a drastic action that comes from an act of care.
